Like all reindeer, Caribounderwood is an active traveler. Making an annual migration from Finland across the Russian taiga and tundra to visit his family in the charming town of Novosibirsk, this circumpolar friend of deer is an ambassador for all wandering Caribou making a peaceful existence on earth.

The changing climate in the Arctic is causing major trouble for the Caribou. The disappearance of the Caribounderwood’s favorite shrubs and grasses due to warming habitats has led to massive starvation for his Finnish and Russian friends. While reindeer are known to be hardy in winter, they are vulnerable to disease and famine in the summer.
Despite the survival of large populations, there has been a recent push from wildlife activists to list North American and Eurasian Caribou species as threatened.

CARIBOU ARE INCREDIBLY OBSERVANT ANIMALS. THEIR DEVELOPED SENSES OF SMELL, SIGHT, AND SOUND ALLOW THEM TO LOCATE FOOD, AVOID PREDATORS, AND STAY TOGETHER AS THEY TRAVEL ACROSS THE TUNDRA. THIS ALSO MAKES THEM INCREDIBLE COOKS.
