The Great Toad

“Where there’s a wart, there’s a way.”

I am The Great Toad. I don’t have teeth, but I’ll eat anything. I love long hops in the mud and sun-bathing in tropical forests. No one can tell me what to do! I’m a power-toad.

You may have heard about me and my love for all of my cane toad friends in Australia….

Humans love to hate the cane toad. They resent their dangerous toxins and successful breeding. I am sure the cane toads feel bad about all the trouble they’ve caused, but it’s not their fault. Humans brought them to Australia to combat cane grubs, and now they’re trying to get rid of them. Cane toads are not objects. I am sure they feel a bit used.

Look at my buddies and their Australian invasion as a cautionary tale. Be careful bringing other animals to places outside of natural distribution areas. Don’t use animals to further human agendas without considering ecological consequences.
