Platynum

Hey-o, Platynum here with some Certified Platynum™ content. I’m here to speak to you about the wonderfully special, but absurd mammal called, the platypus. The platypus is one of two surviving mammals in the world that lays eggs (the other being the echidna). Rumor also has it that platypodes (yes that’s the proper plural form; no one uses it but that makes it more ~special~) also make top-notch spies as evidenced by the “based on a true story (definitely not just a children’s show),” Phineas and Ferb. But if you had any doubts about the platypus’s espionage abilities, let me assure you that male platypodes are well-equipped with venomous spurs that have alternative, subsidiary usages such as keeping away predators and mating rivals. Platypodes are also resourceful: even though they do not have true teeth, they often utilize gravel to help them “chew” up their prey.

But even their espionage expertise is unable to save them from their greatest foe: habitat death. For now, although the platypus is not quite endangered, their population is decreasing, partially due to increased agriculture usage of waterways and pollution. So keep an eye out for the platypus, before this unique animal is gone forever.

Platynum out.
